Vison | A Devotional

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

In the Old Testament Abraham was promised by God that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars and that he would be called the father of many nations. For years he had faith that this would happen. But, when he and his wife got discouraged they took matters into their own hands and many consequences ensued.

Sometimes the original vision God has given to us can begin to fade as life goes on and we can wonder if God really remembers us.

Has God shared a vision or dream with you about your life? Is there a call you feel God placed on your life that you feel has lain dormant?

Are there times like Abraham that in our angst, frustration or sheer tiredness taken matters into our own hands? It is never too late to reconnect with God’s call for our lives. It is time to re-awaken dreams that have been put to death! Take a hold of His promise for hope and a future!

Dear God, thank you for the promise of a hope and a future! I pray that I will walk forward with trusting you regardless for circumstances. When I am discouraged I pray I will remember your promises. Amen

"No matter your age, stage of life, or circumstances, don't forget to dare to dream with God. You don't have to figure anything out. Just keep saying yes to Him, in big ways and small, and watch what He does." ~ Lysa TerKeurst

"Nothing about my birth - or yours - was random or accidental. I was born for this time - and so were you. We were each chosen for a particular, cosmically important task that can be done by no one else." ~ Christine Caine

“I have one desire now-to live a life of reckless abandon for the Lord, putting all my energy and strength into it.” Elizabeth Elliot
