Living Water | A Devotional

Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’” John 7:38

Have you ever been extremely thirsty after a hot day in the sun? Or waking up in the middle of the night? A drink of cold water can be satisfying thing on the planet!

In the Gospel of John, Jesus sat down with the disciples and said “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty” (John 6:35). Just as our physical bodies need water to survive, our spiritual bodies and emotional bodies need Living Water: His love, truth, mercy, forgiveness, hope, and salvation!

God wants to fill us to overflow! What if we were so filled with Him, that it spilled out on the pavement of our lives and those around us couldn't help but ask about the hope within us? Let that be our prayer.

Dear God, thank you so much for knowing my body’s needs. Thank you for gifting me with abundant life and a sense of purpose and being loved every day.  Help this same love to flow out of me to others I come in contact with. In Jesus name – Amen.
