10 Thanksgiving Meal Choices That Will Leave You Feeling Happy and Healthy

Hello! I know this blog is last minute but I just got this idea to share and I wanted to write a quick note about how to walk away from your thanksgiving meal still with a thankful heart and not a hurting tummy!

1) Be sure to give thanks! This attitude of gratitude will help guide you slow down as you eat and focus on connecting with the people around you through conversation. Honestly, having a loving grateful mindset will allow your body to relax when it digests your food which is much healthier. This relaxed posture can help this can help slow down your eating helping you realize when you are full. This will help you avoid overeating keeping you feeling amazing !

2) Chew your food !!!!! Massively underrated ! Digestion begins as you chew your food:). Weird but true. One time I paid $200 for a functional medicine psychiatrist to tell me this. Believe me !

3)Eat your protein source and veggies first!!!!!! If you have salad and roasted veggies at your meal then go for both!

4) If you are still hungry I recommend going back for more veggies. But, if you feel like you would like to taste another food item then go for a complex carbohydrate nutrient dense starch source such as a sweet potato. They are full of nutrients! If you choose another carbohydrate be sure to keep the portion small. This is typically what puts people over the edge making them feel sick from feeling too full.

5) Pause and engage someone in conversation.

6) If there is something you are dying to try, then take the smallest portion imaginable. Be grateful for the taste and let it be enough!

7) Don't drink your calories! Choose water:).

8) Look around the room and count your blessings.

9) Help clean:)

10) Take a walk outside!

I hope these have been helpful!!!!!
